Steps to reproduce:

1. Access a website within another app or use an application

Expected Behavior

Filtering should work in Safari running inside apps and other apps that use Google Ads, but it is being bypassed by AdGuard.

Actual Behavior

The filtering should work across all applications and it worked until May 26.

We've identified an issue affecting ad filtering on iOS 27 (or later beta versions) where ads aren't being blocked on Wi-Fi, or only in certain apps.

What's Causing This:
When you have Wi-Fi Assist enabled, iOS simultaneously shows both Wi-Fi and cellular connections. During this state, iOS may route HTTP traffic through cellular while our split-tunnel DNS protection only intercepts DNS queries. This means some ads (particularly first-party ads or direct IP connections) bypass filtering.

How to Fix It:
Choose one of these two solutions:

1. Disable Wi-Fi Assist (Recommended for most users)

• Go to: Settings → Cellular → Wi-Fi Assist
• Toggle it OFF

2. Switch to Full-Tunnel Mode

• Enable full-tunnel DNS protection in the AdGuard app settings. Go to Settings -> General -> Enable Advanced mode -> Advanced settings -> Low-level settings -> Tunnel mode -> Set to Full-tunnel option
• This routes all traffic through our protection

After applying either fix, ads should filter correctly on Wi-Fi and in all apps.

On iOS 27 beta 2, I tested the suggested second workaround by switching AdGuard to Full-Tunnel mode:

Settings → General → Enable Advanced mode → Advanced settings → Low-level settings → Tunnel mode → Full-tunnel

Unfortunately, this did not fix the issue in Grok. Ads or promoted content still appear on websites opened directly inside the Grok app, even with Full-Tunnel mode enabled.

So in my case, the Full-Tunnel workaround does not fully resolve the problem for all apps.

However, if I choose Native DNS-over-HTTPS, ads are blocked on websites opened directly inside the Grok app.
