I would be interested in supporting (financially) the integration of this into HubZilla.

It is a federated microblogging and website creation platform with BBCode support.
It already has similar functionality, but without the import/export options and the user interface for easy mapping:

The idea is to support easy map creation, sharing and commenting. If possible it should allow linking status posts to a marker on the map, so that location specific comments and photos can be easily shared.
Would that be something you are interested in & willing to take on?
There is also already a map tracking app, that ideally would be expanded or integrated to offer both functionality:

Which would allow real-time location tracking on a map created.
