Actually yes, i've been working on Faolan again the past couple of weeks (Claude has been very helpful).

Got a lot things working, needs polish.

Funny that we're both working on this.
Our project is building a reimplementation in Go. Protocol is mostly understood, client gets ingame, teleports work, a lot more I don't wanna share publically yet.

@Hacknir I have my own project going on (not published), which I started assuming Faolan was abandoned. It seems Melvin also started back up again, which I didn't know. My project is very much alive, Melvin just said his is too.

As far as I know, the published sources for Faolan will launch into the latest AoC client (just patch to newest), but featureset is very limited. One of the first steps I had to do for my Go-based server is to make chat, and then teleports work again; I couldn't get that to work in Faolan.

I could actually really use one thing quite desperately - captures of client server communications. If anyone is interested in helping me with that, especially people who have a lot of characters - I only have access to a single Lvl80 character :( I need a packet capture of every single class to add it. If you can help me at all with this, please reach out - this would unlock a lot for me already.

If someone would consider creating a new character and entirely levelling it (ideally including questing with it), that would be worth even more. I will assist with all the technical things if you don't know how to make network captures. That is the biggest thing holding me back right now. Otherwise, stuff is really progressing and I am really looking forward to share code.
