Trademark Policy

Overview

The project name NetShare, its logo, product name, and branding are trademarks of Huy Nguyen (the "Project Owner").

This trademark policy is separate from the Apache License 2.0 that governs the source code and exists to protect users from confusion and impersonation.

What Is Allowed

You MAY:

  • Use the project name in a descriptive manner (e.g. "Built with NetShare")
  • Fork the repository and modify the source code
  • Redistribute the source code under the terms of the Apache License 2.0
  • State that your project is based on or inspired by NetShare

What Is NOT Allowed (Without Explicit Permission)

You MAY NOT:

  • Publish applications to any app store (Google Play, App Store, Microsoft Store, etc.) using the name NetShare or confusingly similar names
  • Use the official logo, icons, screenshots, or branding assets
  • Imply that your application is an official build or is endorsed by the Project Owner
  • Reuse the official store listing text, screenshots, or marketing materials

Only applications published by Huy Nguyen are considered official.

Permission Requests

If you would like to use the trademark, branding, or publish a derived application under the NetShare name, please contact:

Enforcement

Unauthorized use of the trademarks may result in:

  • Requests for removal or correction
  • App store takedown requests
  • Other actions necessary to protect the project and its users
