Isn't the fix better made in visualization code rather than underlying data? Even if we are building a specific map that a third-party widget presents, do it in the built map.

(I mean, sure we can probably separate the stored coords by a truthful non-zero amount, but if this is a visualization requirement, fix the viz don't stomp the data.)
