Get rid of Conda?

It looks like neurodocker uses Conda a lot. How about getting rid of it? Is it really needed?

It looks like a lot of things break with the Anaconda licensing changes:

if we wanted to replace with mambaforge or uv that would be fine. when neurodocker was created conda was the only packaging system that provided most of the packages in recent form.

It's true that Conda was the only heavy-weight packaging system at the time — although pip was good enough for many use cases. I guess uv is a good replacement nowadays.
