[Bug] Steam Controller 2026 no Vibrations, Gyro Works Great!

• I am not using an unofficial build (Flatpak, Emudeck, etc.).
• I am a silly goose and didn't read these boxes.

Description of the issue

Just got my steam controller in and I noticed that the latest Canary works with my steam controller so I was very excited, however I noticed that gyro support actually works which is fantastic!!! unfortunately I can't get VIBRATIONS to work, unsure if this is a SDL issue or not but I am just so happy GYRO works!

this is interesting because normally i hear the opposite. do you have steam open?

yes, I even tested in SteamOS game mode, and tested without Steam Open, so I could play with SDL not Steam Input, but that didn't matter since both did not allow vibrations

Nothing, because if you read the tooltip, it explicitly says that HD rumble is only working for first-party Nintendo controllers (and its not really working tbh).

The issue is related to our SDL package, which will be updated soon to address this.
