Ping to not directly connected nodes problem

I'm currently facing an issue where I can't ping between two ground stations that are not directly connected and have 3 satellites in between , even though the routing tables on both sides appear to be correct. I'm using the default configuration , and all relevant interfaces are up with proper hello intervals and costs. Despite this setup, the ping fails, is there anything i'm missing in the configuration ? Or it's normal that it does not support pinging to indirectly connected nodes ?

Not sure if this is the same issue but have you checked #20 ? I was having problems with ping and perfs and this helped me, it was a problem with the bird setup. Pinging between ground stations works for me.

Could you please show the error output of ping, and the routing tables of the nodes on the path?

Even after I changed bird as per #20 I still can't ping between GS and GS. I used tcpdump to detect that only the request was sent out on the interface, but I couldn't receive ICMP on the other node. And I'm using Ubuntu22.04 with WSL.
