when i have it enabled youtube is laggy, and when its disabled youtube is considerably less laggy.
im using it on google chrome with the extension

"It's laggy" doesn't give me anything to go on since I have zero lag and issue on my end. The more detail you can provide, the better I can help. Also, if YouTube is already laggy without the script enabled, your device may simply not have enough resources to run it.

the hover animation and registering what video im hovering over is delayed and fells laggy. it also sometimes takes more than 1 second to pause the video after i press pause, and sometimes takes longer to load. and yes, when i disable the extension it stops lagging. i tried both the userscript and extension without them both being enabled at once

i have gtx 1080ti, 36gb of ddr4 ram, and i7 8700k

i usually use thorium browser https://thorium.rocks/ (chromium fork that is faster and uses less resources than normal google chrome)

i tried normal google chrome with no extensions except for this one and it had the exact same result

These are more specific issues, not settings. Even with your config, I have zero issues. The hover animation and video interactions are instant. I'm using Chrome Version 147.0.7727.138 (Official Build) (arm64).

When you pause the video, my script isn't pausing or playing it; that's YouTube. If YouTube changed something and that caused a function to break/loop, you have to disable that specific function. The hover animation can be disabled, otherwise, my script isn't touching it.
