As can be seen by open tickets that are not addressed build fails on node24 (maybe 22 as well)
There is a need to manually update deps by adding

    "@csstools/css-parser-algorithms": "^3.0.5",
    "@csstools/css-tokenizer": "^3.0.4",

Additionally using import react from "@vitejs/plugin-react-swc" instead of import react from "@vitejs/plugin-react" results in asset issues.

On top of that it seems that some deps are colliding with prettier, making it go crazy.

Not good DX.

AWS has a steep learning curve, having a failing quick start is a big no no.
Please see to it for the sake of the product.
I am seriously considering to abandon amplify and bootstrap directly into AWS seeing the state of maintenance.

I can't get the quickstart to successfully build. You would think with how straight forward the quickstart guide is, it would actually work. RIP

If it only works for one version of node then that needs to be addressed in the quickstart online guide. Plus how to set that node version in the build workflow. I've built plenty of projects on amplify in Gen 1, this is my first Gen 2. I hope AWS is still supporting this. Otherwise I'll start looking elsewhere.

Agreed. An official quick start tutorial not working for this long is unacceptable. I ended up switching back to Gen 1 on my project, no problems there.

I wish to share my own.

I was conducting a comparison between AWS and Firebase in order to determine what is the right solution for my needs.

DataConnect, a new Firebase product, is the counterpart of AppSync/Amplify from what I understand.
It seems straightforward, has free local emulation/devtools and good DX though it is less versatile.
I don't remember what the difference is in pricing but I bet Firebase will be better.

The major issue with GCP is that it doesn't have:
FIFO SNS counterpart
Serverless websocket support

That being said, it seems better than struggling to understand what is going on with amplify.

Launching an MVP is tough work and one wants it to be scalable so it is hard to say what is better.
