Stamp/file copy handling for Continuation Out records (digital stamps) #34566

Description

@vikas-gov

Type: Alignment/ Process - cross-team

Summary
Currently, staff stamp and scan a copy of the continuation-out record if a client requests it, so Search can provide it later. In the modernized flow, the uploaded proof-of-continuation document has no stamp, and there's no set format because records come from all jurisdictions, making automated stamping/placement difficult. A review/alignment is needed on how (or whether) stamped file copies will be produced going forward.

Open questions

  • Will stamping be manual, automated, or discontinued (directing clients to the historical company ledger to print their own)?
  • Should there be a notation on the record instead of a stamp?

Related work: Liz Govier noted a digital stamps initiative already in progress and will be reviewed in a future design review session

Impact: Affects records/Search process and client-facing proof of continuation.
