GPU not Enabled

HI,

Im unpacking this zip file and i noticed that it says that GPU is disabled here, is this normal for .zip archives or is gpu acceleration only for when compressing? i have an RTX5090

it is also using all of my ram making the pc very laggy

For ZIP decompression, the GPU is not used. This behavior is currently by design. The reason is that, due to the forward-dependency nature of LZ77, it is difficult to split the workload across GPU cores. As a future update, GPU decompression is planned to be supported for the 7z format.

Regarding the issue where a large amount of memory is consumed, there may be unintended behavior occurring — in other words, it may be a bug. I will investigate this on my side as well. If possible, could you tell me the characteristics of the file you are trying to decompress, and whether it was compressed with CoZip? To be honest, it would be most helpful if you could send me the file, even privately, but if there are privacy concerns, please feel free to ignore that request.

The file is 155GB so its a bit big i could show u where i got it from via DM if its of interest. it was created by unknown software (not by me).

Also, I noticed something about the possible cause of this issue.

Looking closely at the image you attached, the SSD usage appears to be stuck at 100%. My guess is that decompression continues even though writing to the SSD cannot keep up, causing the data that has not yet been written to accumulate in memory.

This suggests that the problem may be that CoZip currently does not have a memory limit.
