Error in UseMethod("meta", x)

I get

Error in UseMethod("meta", x) :
  no applicable method for 'meta' applied to an object of class "character"
In addition: Warning message:
In mclapply(unname(content(x)), termFreq, control) :
  all scheduled cores encountered errors in user code

I don't know much about R to understand this - do you know what I'm doing wrong?

I'm running on OSX, R version is 3.2.3

I was able to get around this by installing an older version of TM. Apparently TM version 0.6 made a change that causes this error to be thrown.

I installed v0.5 of tm and my computer is happily chugging away on a pretty sizeable data set.

FWIW, this is my first time using R for anything so maybe this isn't the right fix, but it got me past this roadblock.
