Users coming to the Data Management App land on the Browse sites page. They may be looking for a specific site. We allow them to filter by workspaces or site type, but we don't allow search for a specific site. This might be an additional filter that allows search for and selection of particular sites and then zooms the map to the selected site.

Users don't always know exactly what they are looking for and zooming the map to find the right site isn't always easy - especially if there are a lot of sites.
