IndexError: pop from empty list

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. running dispatch_async.py
2. print "Samples Received: ", packet['samples']
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- error on thread but program continues to run...
- 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
XBee 2.1.0
Linux version 3.6.11+ (on Raspberry pi)
