The draft PR for the 26.1 port.
There are still some commits titled "REVIEW NEEDED", those definitely need closer inspection.
Commit titled "TODO" are things, where most likely a fix is necessary.
Another thing that might be worth investing time into at some point (but not this PR) is datagen. I've handcrafted the JSONs for now to get it running again.
