Virtual input mouse device, for compatibility with keyd or keymapper

I tried using keyd to make a conditional remap where right click remaps to a keyboard key (e.g. for apps that don't have a right click action). To do this one needs to add the mouse to [ids] section in keyd's default config. When I did this, i can remap mouse buttons but the mouse's pointer is also switched to keyd's virtual pointer which completely bypasses or overrides YeetMouse. I also tried keymapper instead of keyd, and got the same result.
On the yeetmouse side, can we get functionality/option to allow its device to be from a virtual input instead of just from hardware?

Hey, I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues, but I think this is the same problem as described here: #36. If so, then unfortunately this issue will not currently be investigated, as it's not really YeetMouse's fault. You can read more about this on that linked issue. Perhaps switching to some other program that handles the driver-side differently will suffice, depending on what you want to achieve.

One approach that could address all these scenarios is perhaps switching to HID-BPF, but that's not planned for any foreseeable future.

Hey, thanks to smx-smx and their latest PR, there might now be a fix for this issue. Please try the code on the driver/experimental branch and let me know if the issue still persists. This should work for both Keyd and Keymapper, so you can checkout both.

To clone that branch use:

git clone -b driver/experimental https://github.com/AndyFilter/YeetMouse.git

Or if you have the repo already cloned, checkout to the new branch with this:

git checkout driver/experimental

Let me know how it went!

Apologies for the delay to respond, but the experimental branch does indeed work with keyd. It's been working great for the past couple of months.
However I did have to do a full clean reinstall of yeetmouse in a separate location in order to update it since simply updating and switching to the branch with git checkout driver/experimental didn't work.

Hey, no worries. This change was merged to master some time ago (f158d3e), so you can use the latest updates from the master branch. You will also need to do a full (re)install, but I suggest you first run the current uninstaller, then checkout to master (git fetch && git checkout origin/master), and then run the new installer (just to be safe, as many things have changed since).
If everything works as expected, consider closing the issue. Thanks!
