Beginners Guide

Welcome to the CoderDojoGirls wiki!

First day at CoderDojo?

We'd like you to follow these steps (and don't be afraid to call over a mentor for help!):

1. Connect to our internet wifi. Its usually called 'Be Cool' or 'CoderDojo2' and the password is coderdojo or coderdojodcu
2. Does your laptop use Windows or is it an Apple Mac laptop?

Windows

• Download Notepad++ http://notepad-plus-plus.org/download
• Download Google Chrome browser if its not already installed. You can use Firefox if you prefer.

Apple Mac

• Download TextWrangler http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/download.html
• Download Google Chrome browser if its not already installed.

3. Get the latest code from a usb stick from a mentor or download from our github page (a mentor will show you where). You need to save it on your laptop. I recommend creating a new folder on your desktop called CoderDojoGirls and saving it in that folder.
4. If its a .zip file you will have to right click the file and 'extract to' the CoderDojoGirls folder on your desktop.
5. Have fun and get coding! Don't be afraid to ask questions :)
