this.Eg.close() is not a function Error.

The GoogleMapReact component is used on our website and it works well for most of the time. However, over the past few days we have received quite a few incident reports where we have an uncaught error. It says that this.Eg.close() is undefined and I am guessing something is calling it.

I have had trouble recreating the issue, but it seems to keep popping up. The user agents for these errors have all been pretty similar. Here is one of them: Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; CPU OS 16_6 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/16.6 Mobile/15E148 Safari/604.1.

I've been facing the same issue for a while. It comes from the Google Maps API, so I wonder if this is the best place to report this issue. Specifically, It's coming from https://maps.googleapis.com/maps-api-v3/api/js/58/3/util.js and here below, you can see the code that raises the error:

I've met this problem too, can anyone show me how to solve that? also, I've used the autocomplete api, it didn't work too.

at the end, I downgrade my google maps api version from v-weekly(3.58) to v-3.56, hope that can help you a little bit

Hi I downgraded my google maps api version to v=3.56. I noticed that some functions, such as addDomListener, are deprecated. As of February 2025 version 3.56 will no longer be available. Would the remedy then be to switch my current code functions to match with ones available in newer versions (ie v=3.59, etc)? I am worried after v=3.56 is no longer available my maps will break again.
