How to customize it?

I am trying to customize it little bit and it seems that, it's not easy though.

1. I want to add top margin so that, filter view will not touch to the navigation bar.
2. Can I add a arrow or something which can indicate that it's from navigation bar (if first point is applicable). Something like this.

Please guide.
