Also another suggestion: it would be great to be able to put the blog articles wherever we want. Having to put them in src/Resources/data isn't practical since it's the main thing of the repository.

There is a key in Phpillip's configuration that define the source directory for content: src_path.

src_path has for default value /Resources/data (_path/to/your/app/src/Resources/data)

It can be changed to /../data (path/to/your/app/data):

src_path: "/../data"

👍 I'm starting to understand better the philosophy of the project. On one side there's the "write a Silex app, Phpillip will dump it to a static website" feature. On the other side there's the "write a static blog" feature. And I think currently the project addresses the 1st one mainly (in a great way) so that's why I'm confused trying to do the 2nd thing.

Maybe you should decide if you want to solve both needs? (because maybe you just care about the 1st feature which would be perfectly valid). However if you want to solve both, then maybe it's possible to create a blog template (#10) without affecting too much what Phpillip is today (in order to preserve both use cases). So in that case you don't have to change the default directory of the standard template.

But for the blog template I suggest to make it as simple as possible, and put the real content (blog content) as visible and accessible as possible (not the Silex stuff). E.g. personally I'd rather have the blog posts in a root directory (something like posts/). Same for the template but it's maybe less important. Throwing another random idea: I'm starting to get used to Puli where resources are stored in res/ (which is a a little better than src/Resources/…).
