According to the documentation, the name of the place along with its distance and direction, if available, will be displayed on the home screen. I tried setting a beacon in the iOS app, and it did show the distance and direction. The Android app only shows the name of the place, or maybe TalkBack just can't access the rest of the info. Even after enabling the map view for sighted users, that didn't help. I'm totally blind, and I tried to experiment if displaying the map would help, but TalkBack didn't say anything about the beacon's distance or direction.
