## Feature Request: OpenSteamTools compatibility

Hi,

First of all, great work on CloudRedirect — it's a really clever solution!

I wanted to ask if you'd consider adding support/compatibility for OpenSteamTools, an open-source alternative to SteamTools:

Since OpenSteamTools uses the same DLL hijacking approach (dwmapi.dll / xinput1_4.dll), CloudRedirect could potentially work with it as well.

Would it be possible to add an option in CloudRedirect to detect and patch OpenSteamTools instead of (or alongside) the original SteamTools?

There's an API! OpenSteamTools can implement it and then CR will work great! I don't want to patch OpenSteamTool, it's not ST, it's not hostile towards what I'm doing here. If they implement the API, all will work!

Except for CR's UI. Once something implements the API, I'll add support for that mode in the actual UI application for CR.

Problem is that cloudredirect doesn't open if it doesn't recognizes ST dlls, which means that when using OST, it doesn't open and when it does, gives the following error trying to config cloud redirection:

Applying cloud redirect patch...
  Steam version: 1782257239 (OK)
FAILED: SteamTools Core DLL not found. Is SteamTools installed?

Maybe it doesn't need patching and I'm dumb? Yeah. But even so, CR not opening when I delete ST and install OST may be a hassle to login to onedrive.
Well, my main point is that, besides my issue, this may be closed because it is now compatible? :D

Yep, I'm aware. I'll be adding handling for that scenario in an update. You don't need redirection, but the UI utterly doesn't support third party clients...for now! I'll fix it the day the update to OpenSteamTool that includes the functionality is published. If that is today, I'll do it today.

I'd do it sooner, but I have changed the UI a lot in an upcoming version that is in testing and I don't really want to redesign the UI twice/backport part of the UI changes or ship nopped out options that spoil some of the cool stuff I've been working on! 😭

I had CloudDirect dll installed from before so didnt run into the patching issue.

I just tested it CloudRedirect works fine with OpenSteamTool, please add support for the OpenSteamTool Default directory as well. I also wanted to say i see no reason to use a closed off Chinese version when we have more superior better open source version, it doesnt even need to constantly restart ur steam to load the lua files. The Dev seems responsive and it is getting patches and good features.

I believe this one is the way forward but we will see how it shapes up, Right now i have fully migrated all my stuff away from SteamTools, i even manually updated the luatools browser plugin. Everything seems fine.

No need for hardlink, you can set OST config file to have a custom directory.

After some further using CloudRedirect, today it started givng me Steam Cloud out of date, even tho i see some files do get uploaded but it does "Checking" for long time, i think it might not upload the full thing,, weirdly enough issue is since i updated to latest version 2.2.2, AFAIK i didnt have this issue yesterday.

Edit: I downgraded DLL to v2.2.1 and yep no issues so far, and the checking part was almost instant. We will see.

Yes you are right, after further use it seems the issues still happen, not sure where the issue is if its cloud side with OST or is it OST side issue with cloud. Need more people to test. Ill just wait untill u fully update the patcher. It semi works now lol
