1. Clone the repositories

   # Clone Backend
   git clone https://github.com/SimplePOS24/Backend.git
   
   # Clone Frontend (in separate directory)
   git clone https://github.com/SimplePOS24/Frontend.git

2. Setup Backend

   cd Backend
   
   # Set environment variables
   export MONGODB_URI="mongodb://localhost:27017"
   export MONGODB_DATABASE="kassensystem"
   
   # Install and run
   mvn clean install
   mvn spring-boot:run

3. Setup Frontend

   cd Frontend
   
   # Install dependencies
   npm install
   
   # Create environment file
   echo "NEXT_PUBLIC_API_URL=http://localhost:8081" > .env
   
   # Start development server
   npm run dev

4. Access the application

   • Frontend: http://localhost:3000
   • Backend API: http://localhost:8081

The SimplePOS24 system is split into separate repositories for better maintainability:

• Backend - Spring Boot REST API
• Frontend - Next.js React application
