I've been using Perl Navigator for a few years now in Windows, but have recently taken the plunge and switched to Fedora 44. The Discover installer has both VSCode and VSCodium available. It's not immediately obvious, but these are the Flatpak versions. Both Code and Codium appear to work fine and Navigator installed with no problem, but neither Perl::Critic nor Perl::Tidy worked in either program. There was no output from Tidy in the Perl Navigator LSP window, but Critic showed the message "Skipping Perl::Critic as it is not installed". This was suspicious, as Critic works fine from the command line. Suspecting Flatpak permissions, I removed that version and installed the DNF version manually. Both Critic and Tidy worked "out of the box". I suspect this is not a bug, but a question of configuring Flatpak. That's a bit beyond me at the moment, but if discovered, it would be worth adding instructions to the documentation. As it is, anyone installing Fedora, the default versions of VSCode or VSCodium, and Perl Navigator will hit this problem.
