Please tag a release

I am trying to package FreeCad and HeeksCAD for Void Linux and this is a dependency of both. Void doesn't use git commits, so please tag a release (even v.0.0.1) so I can package this for Void Linux and meet the specifications of the package repo guys.

Hi luzpaz, Sorry, I've been away for years and haven't done anything with software for a long time. My job has kept me too busy. Hopefully my neglect of libarea hasn't hurt the progress of the Path module in FreeCAD. If I need to do anything to pass along the metaphoric car keys or reigns to libarea to you, let me know. @danielfalck thanks for your response. It may be useful for the FreeCAD community to adopt this repository since libarea is an important dependency for the Path workbench.

I'm not sure I understand. FreeCAD has its own copy of libarea in the source.

I don't think any changes have been upstreamed to Dan's repo for a long time.

The only reference I see to the repo is in the src/Doc/ThirdPartyLibraries.html file

What exactly is the proposal?

Well the idea is 2 fold:

1. resurrect the project (since it's used in FreeCAD Path WB) if any outside contributors want to submit PRs and develop libarea they can (which in turn can benefit FreeCAD).
2. extract the library out of Path and in to an external dependency

Concretely,

1. Move this repo to the FreeCAD namespace (I think @danielfalck would have to give me some permissions on this repo to be able to do it)
2. Update FreeCAD/libarea with any changes made to our bundled copy
3. (Optional) Introduce libarea packages where appropriate and use those instead of our bundled copy
4. (Optional) If we ever "complete" 3 and libarea packages become ubiquitous, remove our bundled copy
