FPL Internal

Internal Docs & Notes

  1. Project objectives/outline doc (Alina Banerjee).
  2. Links and Docs (compiled by Sanjay Karanth): full archive of every document and link shared in #fpl-esg, plus channel-files/ with the actual files mirrored out of Slack.
  3. ideas.md: ambitious/speculative directions raised in #fpl-esg (data provenance tracking, code repetition detection, and others), not yet scoped as project-management issues.

Project Management

  1. #133 Climate applications: planning. Assignees: Alina Banerjee, Sanjay Karanth. Identifying concrete milestones and research questions across two prongs: helping other groups doing environmental work in India, and enhancing OCaml climate libraries. No repo or dedicated docs yet.

Other Prospective Collaborators (exploratory)

other-collaborators.md: environment/public-tech collaborators surfaced beyond CoreStack and TESSERA (PDGI, SAFAR India, IIT Bombay Climate Studies, a Frappe-like public-tech platform idea), not yet tied to a project-management issue.

CoreStack

CoRE Stack (Aaditeshwar Seth's project) is the main platform underlying FPL's climate/ESG work. Code lives across two orgs: core-stack-org (upstream) and fplaunchpad (FPL's contributions).

Repo

  1. core-stack-org/core-stack-backend (core-stack-org, Aaditeshwar Seth's team, IIT Delhi): Django app that computes layers (LULC, drought, hydrology, etc.), serves the API, and orchestrates GEE/GeoServer.
  2. core-stack-org/landscape-explorer (core-stack-org): React + OpenLayers frontend for viewing layers.
  3. core-stack-org/Commons-Connect (core-stack-org): Vite/React app for watershed planning, run inside a Flutter WebView.

Official Documentation

  1. docs.core-stack.org (core-stack-org).
  2. core-stack.org/category/knowledge/nuts-bolts (core-stack.org): best broad-overview entry point.
  3. core-stack.org/core-stack-developer-community (core-stack.org).
  4. core-stack.org/core-stack-technical-manual-v2 (core-stack.org): technical manual, dated 6 Mar 2025. Companion PDF: CoRE_v2_layers.
  5. deepwiki.com/core-stack-org/core-stack-backend (auto-generated by deepwiki from the backend's commit history, not written by the team directly).
  6. groups.google.com/u/2/g/core-stack-dev (core-stack-org developer community).
  7. Discord (core-stack-org developer community).

Internal Repo

  1. fplaunchpad/core-stack-backend (fplaunchpad, fork of core-stack-org/core-stack-backend): FPL's working fork, incl. wiki.
  2. corestack-old/ (primarily Sanjay Karanth and S Naveen): retired joint FPL/CoreStack planning and coordination content, imported from the now-deleted fplaunchpad/fpl-core-stack repo. Includes the first-meeting notes with Aadi Seth, the May 2026 roadmap (project.md + core-stack-2.0.pptx), and S Naveen's reference/glossary notes.
  3. fplaunchpad/corestack-rag (fplaunchpad, Smayan Agarwal): RAG over the CoreStack codebase and docs.

Internal Docs & Notes

  1. corestack-needs-and-goals.md: faithful record of CoreStack's goals, technical asks, and roadmap, drawn from FPL↔Aadi Seth email threads, the roadmap deck, Aadi's "Bugs and first issues" doc, and the archived fpl-core-stack roadmap.
  2. "FPL INTERNAL: Bugs and first issues" (Aaditeshwar Seth, IIT Delhi, annotated by the FPL team): original doc of bugs and first issues.

TESSERA

TESSERA is Cambridge's geospatial foundation-model project (Anil Madhavapeddy's group); FPL is exploring where it overlaps with CoRE Stack's pipelines.
