The Free Battery Factory

Batteries are the boring-but-essential parts everyone forgets to include. We make them. Then we write about why they work.
Automate the work. Keep the authority.

The Free Battery Factory

Operational AI for consequential small teams.

The business needs machinery. People shouldn't have to become it.

The spreadsheet someone has to remember to update. The handoff that only works because one person knows what happens next. The same information entered three times because none of the systems agree.

That's where we start. We learn how the work actually happens, decide what should change, and build the software around it. Sometimes the useful answer is an integration. Sometimes it's a new system. Sometimes nothing needs to be built.

Our discipline is Operator Experience (OpX). The software should carry more of the work without taking judgment away from the people responsible for it.

Automate the work. Keep the authority.

Systems from the factory

Metaprogramming + adversarial testing · Rust

A callable compiler, procedural macros, and a test harness for generating repetitive code and challenging its behavior. Recipes describe the structure. Domain decisions stay with the author.

Source · Releases · crates.io · Documentation

Adaptive projection · TypeScript

Shared definitions turn continuous signals into named states and project them across CSS, graphics, accessibility, and runtime surfaces. Integrations connect the system to Astro, React, Vite, and Cloudflare.

0.10.0 source · npm · Documentation

Event history · Rust

An embedded, sync-first event store for typed events, append-only history, verifiable receipts, and deterministic replay. The TypeScript SDK brings the same wire contracts and canonical encodings to application code.

One battery. One boundary.

We build reusable parts because the same problems show up in different businesses. But the business is the starting point, not a requirement to adopt our libraries.

Our work spans workflow systems, integrations, developer infrastructure, and architecture review. Rust, TypeScript, and Cloudflare are tools we build with; the point is to make the actual work better.

Work with us

Bring the process that keeps stalling, the codebase that's fighting you, or the diagram that doesn't quite explain what's happening. We'll start with the work, not a shopping list of AI features.
