How will I be able to backup my posts from a Haven Pod hosted by PikaPods? Should I be asking this elsewhere?

I apologize if I should have been able to figure this out from the source code or through other resources available. I am not very familiar with the backend behind using PikaPods to host a Haven Pod. They give me SFTP access, but I am unable to see the latest postgres database among the available files. Since I can't SSH, I don't know how to initiate a new dump. I am afraid to turn on the "access database" feature because they give a warning saying I should know what I'm going if I am turning that on.

Here is the documentation from PikaPods for backups: https://docs.pikapods.com/manage/backup

At the top of that page, they describe how PikaPods automatically does daily full-server backups. This means if something goes wrong with the pod, they will be able to restore your Haven from that backup. You might want to do your own backups to protect against something like accidentally deleting a post. I would generally suggest that you or anyone else using PikaPods not worry about making your own backups and trust PikaPods to stay reliable.

In the future I plan to build functionality into Haven to make it easier to copy your data to another instance of Haven from within Haven itself, but that feature doesn't yet exist.

One form of "export" that would be useful for general archiving and data portability would be a ZIP download containing all the source content on a blog, eg markdown files and media attachments, and maybe comments and likes in a json format where applicable When you export an account from google, twitter etc it gives you this kind of archive, and it's a good baseline for any "takeout" feature.
