Line breaks are removed when I paste Markdown as plain text

I reproduced this via the public site at https://mist.inanimate.tech/ using Safari 26.4 on MacOS 15.7.5.

Here’s my test text:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore
et dolore magna aliqua.

Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo
consequat.

* Foo
* Bar
* Baz

Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla
pariatur.

Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id
est laborum.

I would greatly prefer that linebreaks be preserved.

I’d be happy to look into a fix if you’re interested in code contributions.
