Python 2.7 artefacts cleanup

While project is officially declare python support 3.8+, it still actively uses six library in the not generated code.

Generated code produced by using python-legacy, so it is "python 2.7+, python 3.4+" .

Switching to the python-nextgen for the same openapi generator version will produce "python 3.7+" code without six library usage (but introduce pydantic usage for models = major change).

currently we have upgraded openapi generator to v6.6.0, the plan is to upgrade it to the latest version v7.21.0. does that work for you?

It will fix generated code (and cover urllib compatibility issue).

I can try to modernise not generated code myself, but typing annotations will be safer to do after generator update.

sounds good, btw, is v6.6.0 sufficient, or v7.21.0 is needed? trying to understand which minimum version is needed.

6.6.0 is enough with python-nextgen, 7.12.0 is maximaal version supporting python 3.8 and since version 7.0.0 need to use "python" generator (= python-nextgen in 6.6.0).

Given that we're transitioning to the python-nextgen generator, it would be useful to start identifying all instances in the not generated code where the six library is currently used. This will help us prepare for a smooth migration to pydantic, as we may need to refactor those areas to accommodate the new data model structure. Can we establish a plan to systematically replace six usages with native Python 3 features in conjunction with the upgrade to 6.6.0?

openapi generator has been upgraded to the lastest v7.25.0+snapshot,

#2673 removed the remaining six usage from the repo. there are a couple of six usages in generated files, that need to be removed from the openapi generator.

Following repo check, six is not used by any code any more. Issue can be closed.
