Michael Villari

Websites, native apps, and business automation.

I'm the founder of Birchwood Digital, a marketing and software studio in Buffalo, New York. I build practical tools for business owners and contribute focused fixes to open-source projects.

What I build

  • Websites and interfaces: responsive layouts, accessible interactions, lead capture, and conversion tracking.
  • iOS and macOS apps: Swift and SwiftUI, local storage, native workflows, and API integrations.
  • Business tools: Python and JavaScript automation, research tools, dashboards, and reporting.

Selected projects

Project What it does
HomeBrain Local-first iPhone inventory for household items, vehicles, documents, and maintenance reminders, with on-device VIN and plate capture.
Pipeline Website research and lead qualification with a native Mac interface and a review workflow.
Poach Native macOS SEO research with locally cached snapshots, backlink analysis, and keyword comparisons.
Night Parade research The sourced, confidence-graded research corpus behind Night Parade.
Egyptian God Corpus A source-graded reference to named Egyptian deities, with traceable citations.

See the app portfolio for more about my software. My case-study library documents the marketing side of my work.

Open-source contributions

I'm interested in reproducible bugs, UI and accessibility fixes, Python tooling, documentation that makes software easier to use, and API integrations. My approach is to reproduce the problem, make a focused change, test the affected behavior, and follow through on review. I use AI-assisted development and follow each project's contribution policies.
