Spurious Update doesn't work when there are local patches

The spurious update check occurs on the result of --patch-mode none so it will show a diff. Then local patches get applied and maybe there's no diff after-all! (At least according to a claude analysis). This occurred in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2073922
