Made by the Women of The Gradient (WOG).
OKAI Period is an AI-driven tool designed to help address one dimension of period poverty by identifying communities with the greatest unmet need for accessible and free menstrual products, enabling resources to be distributed more proactively and equitably.
OKAI Period is a Streamlit-based data visualization application that explores neighbourhood patterns using clustering and geographic analysis. The app allows users to interactively explore neighbourhood clusters, view locations on a map, and gain insights from spatial data.
The project combines data processing, machine learning outputs, and interactive mapping to make neighbourhood-level information easier to understand and explore.

As trainees of the AI4Good Lab Toronto Cohort of 2026, May was filled with courses, hands-on labs, and inspiring speaker sessions, and in June, we had the opportunity to showcase this project during the Demo Day 2026 held at Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute. We want to give a special thanks to our TA Yahan Zhang, and our Mentor Winnie Au for guiding us throughout the project.
