## Why this fork?

Passkey support alone is not the reason this fork exists — the [agrahn fork](https://github.com/agrahn/Android-Password-Store) also has passkeys, and they were implemented independently with different design choices.

The goal of this fork is **cross-platform interoperability with [passless](https://github.com/pando85/passless)**: Android and Linux share the same encrypted credential format and the same Git-backed `pass` store, so a credential created on one platform works on the other. The agrahn fork uses a different passkey encoding that is not compatible with passless by default.
