+The extension compiles in the bundled rapidfuzz-cpp headers
+(extern/rapidfuzz-cpp, added by CMakeLists.txt via add_subdirectory when no
+system rapidfuzz is found). That library is header-only and MIT-licensed by
+Max Bachmann and Adam Cohen, and its terms require the copyright notice to
+travel with binary redistributions, but the built wheel ships only
+Levenshtein's own GPL LICENSE.
+
+Adding the file at the project root is enough on its own: with no
+license-files key in pyproject.toml, scikit-build-core applies the PEP 639
+default glob (LICEN[CS]E*), so it lands in the wheel's dist-info/licenses/
+next to LICENSE with no packaging change.
