Python developer from Portugal π΅πΉ Β· testing-tooling enthusiast Β· long-time open-source contributor
- π I've been writing Python for well over a decade and care a lot about testing and developer tooling.
- π§ Long-time core contributor to Salt β one of its earliest and most prolific contributors.
- π§ͺ I built a family of
pytestplugins from the ground up to make testing infrastructure and system-level code less painful. - π¦ Lately I've been reaching for Rust for tooling β see ToolR.
- π I write about Python, testing and infrastructure at blog.algarvio.me.
- π¬ Ask me about
pytest, Salt, test frameworks, packaging, or automating anything.
- ToolR β in-project CLI tooling support, written in Rust (docs).
- refine β polishing and improving codebases automatically with
libcst(docs).
Created and shaped these from day one β I'm no longer actively maintaining them, but they're still in use:
- pytest-salt-factories β write functional and integration tests for Salt.
- pytest-shell-utilities β spawn and assert against shell processes in tests.
- pytest-skip-markers β platform/feature skip markers for
pytest. - pytest-system-statistics β collect CPU/memory statistics for the processes exercised during a test run.
