Hi, I'm Pavan 👋

Scientific Programmer specializing in climate model data workflows, distributed computing with Dask, and STAC-based federated catalog infrastructure for HPC environments — based in Hamburg, Germany.

Currently at Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI), HPC & Data Processing Group. Background spans HPC application support, satellite data processing, geospatial analysis, and large-scale Earth system model (ESM) output pipelines (DKRZ, GWDG, Universität Hamburg).

Currently working on:

  • esm_catalog — production STAC catalog for ESM experiment output: DuckDB, CQL2 filtering, parallel NetCDF/GRIB scanning via dask.distributed on SLURM, federated multi-experiment API, MCP server for LLM access
  • pycmor — CMIP6/7 CMORisation tooling
  • ptool — cross-site HPC data-pool sync/dedup
