Resolve making compare/contrast models, make target-mode usable again

Swapping to Pardinus moved target-oriented mode into a new option; need to re-integrate optimization (and prevent generating these models unless they're explicitly asked for somewhere?)

This is now supported in forge/core, but there is no surface syntax for it in Forge.
