On that page, look for the latest release and download the Windows file. If the release contains a ZIP file, save it to your PC and extract it first. If it contains an .exe file, you can run it after the download finishes.

- Find the newest release at the top.
- Download the Windows package.
- If the file is a ZIP archive, right-click it and choose Extract All.
- Open the extracted folder.
- Run the app file inside the folder.
- If Windows asks for permission, choose Run anyway or Yes.
If you use a work or school PC, you may need administrator access to start the app.

After you install ApkClaw:
- Start the app on Windows.

If one channel does not work, check the token, account status, and channel permissions first.
ApkClaw uses an AI model to read your message and decide what to do on the phone. In the Settings page, enter:
- The model name
- The API key
- The server address, if needed
- Any prompt or behavior settings
Use a model that handles short instructions well. Keep the action words simple. For example:
- Tap the blue button
- Open the app drawer
- Scroll down one page
- Return to the previous screen
Avoid long requests with many steps at first. Start small, then build up.
The Home screen focuses on device access and permission status. Use it to check whether ApkClaw can reach the Android phone and whether the needed permissions are active.
The Settings screen is where you enter:
- AI model details
- Channel setup data
- Device connection settings
- App behavior options
Check this page if messages do not reach the phone or if the agent does not respond.
ApkClaw may need the following permissions to work well:
- Screen access

If the app asks for permission, open the request and turn it on. Some Android phones hide these controls under system settings, so you may need to search for the permission name.
After setup, send one simple command through your chosen chat app. Try one of these:

After extraction, keep the app files in one folder. Do not move single files out of the folder unless the release notes say to do so. If you update to a new version, close the app first, then replace the old files with the new release files.
When a new version is available:
- Go back to the release page
- Download the latest Windows package
- Close the old version
- Extract the new ZIP or run the new file
- Open the app and check your settings
If your settings do not carry over, copy them from the old folder before removing it.
