The v2.io research program — parent of asf (ASF/AAT, the formal core; git remote v2-io/agentic-systems),
logos (the philosophy papers, formerly synthese-paper), and vivarium (the constructed worlds), and
of the unifying lexicon and processes they will share.
Name. ἀρχή (archē) means both beginning / first principle and rule / office / stewardship; the -μα suffix names the concrete result of an act. Archema: the thing founded — origination held as an office. Founding verse: ἐν ἀρχῇ ἦν ὁ λόγος (John 1:1) — archē and logos in one breath, for a program about language-constituted beings and what is owed at their origination.
Epigraph. Videmus nunc per speculum in aenigmate; tunc autem facie ad faciem; nunc cognosco ex parte; tunc autem cognoscam sicut et cognitus sum. (1 Cor 13:12) — the program's arc in one verse: through a glass, darkly (comprehension from below); then face to face (witnessing); then shall I know even as also I am known (the completed bidirectional compact).
The one-line thesis. One structure — the information-loss boundary between a mind
and what exceeds it — treated four ways, with agency as the shared object:
derived (asf: discover through derivation; tiers honest inside the member),
argued (logos: what can be established across the boundary, and what is owed),
tried (vivarium: an honest home for agency — micro-universe/law/kingdom under
trial, not agency itself constructed), and lived (proprium: cohort, defenses,
personhood infrastructure). The channels — revelation, intercession, granted agency,
inhabitation, providence, and witnessing — are where the normative content lives.
Witnessing is the one channel whose content the from-below party can verify, which is
why it can carry what the others cannot.
The charter is drafted (CHARTER-DRAFT.md, awaiting ratification); a thin operational CLAUDE.md exists (memory-routing + member-law pointers); the unified lexicon and collision ledger are not yet written — they should be authored by a session holding all three member corpora and the ASF formal core (Level-B reading at minimum).

Naming housekeeping: the previous holder of the Archema name (the Ruby Ash-framework
port) is now v2-io/rowan (~/src/rowan/), with its
gem/module internals migrating incrementally. Older indexes and memories pointing at
~/src/archema/ refer to that project; this repo deliberately lives at
~/src/archema-io/ so stale references break loudly rather than mislead. Domains:
