Hello! I'm Mike

Software engineer & architect

I design systems, write code, and build tools that make software easier to develop, understand, and maintain. My projects span web and desktop applications, infrastructure, developer tooling, and interactive 3D.

Most of them start with something I want to understand, improve, or make less annoying. Sometimes that means building an application. Sometimes it means digging into an existing one to find out how it actually works.

Engineering interests

Applications & infrastructure - Frontend and backend development, desktop applications, APIs, self-hosted services, and the systems that connect them.

Developer tooling & internals - Build tools, plugins, automation, runtime behavior, and reverse engineering. I like making existing software more useful and understanding what happens beneath its abstractions.

Interactive 3D & games - Real-time rendering, asset pipelines, optimization, and multiplayer experiments with Three.js, WebGPU, Godot, and Blender.

How I approach software

I care about understanding a system well enough to explain its tradeoffs, debug its failures, and change it deliberately. I prefer clear interfaces, explicit assumptions, and tests that check actual behavior.

I choose languages and frameworks around the problem. I'm comfortable moving between application code, infrastructure, and lower-level details when that's what a solution needs.

I use AI-assisted tools alongside hands-on coding, debugging, and review.
